Grandma To The Rescue
On Saturday, Grandma arrived from Los Angeles, where (most of) my Filipino side of the family lives. Daddy had to pick her up from the airport in Wichita, but since I wasn’t interested in another road trip, he went there by himself. I got to spend some more time alone with Mommy.
Once they got back home, Grandma held me and played with me all afternoon. In the evening I had a facetime call with my auntie and grandpa.
Grandma watched me the first night, so Mommy and Daddy can get some rest. I made sure to keep her up. The following nights, she alternated with Daddy. As the main food source, Mommy doesn’t get a break no matter who’s the night watch.
On Tuesday, Daddy set up the new changing station they got for the living room. The first time they used it to change me, I peed all over it (hey, you gotta baptize the thing, no?). The second time, I peed twice.
Thursday I had my second pediatrics visit. Even though I had already pooped before and on the way there, as soon as Mommy and Daddy had to change me for the checkup, I peed and pooped again.
I’m 7lb 10oz / 3.45kg now, from all the healthy feedings i’m getting. After all, all I do is eat, sleep and poop - sometimes more than one at a time.
Friday night I kept everybody up. On one of the times Daddy changed me, I pooped immediately after. What’s a new diaper good for?
At some point in the morning I was fussing, trying to get them to change my diaper. I tried peeing on my parents, but missed, ended up on myself. All over myself. Not my finest moment.
That weekend Daddy finally finished cleaning the house, only 3 weeks later than planned. It’s ok Daddy, it’s not like the rooms you previously cleaned are now a mess because of me. Oh, they are? Bummer.
The second week with my Grandma was pretty much like the first. I kept her up at night and even peed on her a few times. Got back a lot of love and cuddling. She took care of me at night and during the day - when Mommy was resting and Daddy was trying to work. I could get used to this.
